It is very common for women to critique and feel frustrated by certain aspects of their bodies. At Simply Breasts, we frequently hear from women whose breasts have lost their perky shape and position because of aging, pregnancy, massive weight loss or other factors. Many of our patients tell us they feel unattractive or that they have a hard time finding clothing that flatters. They often feel self-conscious at the beach, pool or gym. These women wish they could turn back the hands of time and enjoy more youthful-looking breasts.

What Breast Lift Surgery Can Correct
Over time, your breasts naturally change in appearance typically the loss of natural volume, fullness, and firmness. The skin on your breast tends to become lax, the nipples point downward and the breasts sag on the chest wall looking deflated.
- These factors can greatly shape the appearance of your breasts:
- Nursing
- Significant weight loss
- Genetic factors
- Gravity
Fortunately, a breast lift surgery can correct these cosmetic concerns, giving your breasts a more classically feminine appearance. During the procedure, the breast tissue is elevated and reshaped higher on the chest while the nipple and areola are raised to a perkier position on the breast mound. With a better breast shape, you will feel happier and more confident.*
Breast lift, however, will not significantly change the size of your breasts. If you desire larger breasts, we may recommend breast augmentation with implants in conjunction with your breast lift. On the other hand, if you would like smaller breasts, we suggest combining breast reduction and breast lift. Our team can discuss these options with you in more detail during your consultation.
Am I Good Candidate for Breast Lift Surgery?
You may be a good candidate for a breast lift if you desire more youthful-looking breasts.
- To qualify for surgery, you should be:
- In good physical and psychological health
- Nonsmoker or be willing to quit after surgery
- Not suffering from any chronic medical conditions that could increase the risk of complications or slow down your healing process
It is also important that you have realistic expectations of the surgical outcome. You should understand what the procedure can and cannot reasonably achieve. We encourage you to meet with your surgeons to review your candidacy for breast lift and determine whether the procedure is a good fit for your needs.

More about Breast Lift Surgery
Our breast lift surgery is performed on an outpatient basis at our accredited surgery center. Anesthesia is administered for your complete comfort. The surgery usually takes one to three hours, depending on your specific treatment plan and the degree of correction necessary.
The incisions for breast lift surgery are made around the areola or the dark pigmented area surrounding the nipple. In some cases, the incision can be placed down to the fold underneath the breast. Our surgeons are careful to make the incisions in a way that preserves normal breast and nipple sensation.
Through the incisions, our surgeons lift and sculpt the breast tissue higher on the chest wall for a more youthful-looking and attractive contour. The nipple-areola complex is also moved higher on the breast. Excess skin is then removed. Breast implants may be placed if this is what you have agreed to during your consultation.
After the surgeons have completed these steps and achieved a better breast shape and position, they close the incisions with sutures and dress the treated area. They may apply a surgical bra for additional support.
Recovering from Breast Lift Surgery
We provide specific instructions for your breast lift recovery, including how to care for your breasts, medications to aid the healing process and reduce infection and when to return to our office for a follow-up. If you have questions or concerns at any point during your recovery, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
The first few days after your breast lift surgery will be the most uncomfortable. Bruising, swelling, and soreness are common but will subside quickly. If you experience discomfort, you can take oral pain medication as prescribed. It is also critical to avoid any strenuous movement and refrain from lifting your arms above your chest. Get plenty of rest, eat nutritious meals and hydrate properly.
We will schedule several follow-up visits to check your healing progress, remove sutures, and advise when to return to your normal activities, including work and exercise.
